Bio for Bill Rose-Heim

Originally from New York, Bill has served in the Midwest for nearly twenty-five of the past thirty-five years of ministry in three denominations. He is married to Donna Rose-Heim and is the father of five children. Bill is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from 2001-2013 as a volunteer fire fighter, fire service instructor and chaplain in the Cameron Fire Department.  He serves on the Executive Committee of the Missouri Interfaith Disaster Response Organization  and in that capacity as a planner with disaster preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation teams at the local, regional and state levels. He served as a member of the Cameron City Council from 2013-2015.

Bill began serving as Regional Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Greater Kansas City on November 16, 2015.  He gets to work with a smart, creative staff and a host of dedicated colleagues and deeply invested volunteers.

Focus areas of his ministry include:
• Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation
• Facilitating a process for revisiting Regional mission, vision, values and identity leading to adaptive changes in structure, staffing and resourcing
• Serving and supporting Regional staff and volunteers and all Disciples clergy and lay leaders in congregations engaged in mission and ministry
• Improving stewardship for all expressions of the Church
• Fortifying the unity and connectedness of faith communities throughout our Region
• Strengthening the relationship between the Region, its congregations and the many ministries and missions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and its ecumenical and community partners

Bill and Donna share a home in Overland Park, Kansas where they are developing connections with voluntary organizations active in developing community, promoting voter engagement, and welcoming refugees.
